2 Day Doi Inthanon National Park Tour

This morning we depart Chiang Mai at 8 AM and travel to Chiang Dao Cave Shrine for a 30 minute walk through the cave. (Option) If you would like to go deep into the cave you can hire local guides with lanterns to guide you through the deep crevasses. We then have lunch and travel to the small town of Thaton on the Thai - Myanmar (Burmese) border stopping at an old fashion rice mill along the way. Overnight at Garden Home bungalows and your river side bungalow or home stay in your guide's Karen hill tribe villge. (B,L,D)
This morning at 6:30 AM we go to the local market then give alms to the monks. We then go to the temple for a beautiful sunrise with a spectular view of the surrounding mountains, Fang valley and the Mae Kok river snaking through the valley below. We will also go inside the beautiful Pagoda at the temple then go to a view point looking at the river flowing out of the mountain canyons in Myanmar (Burma). We then have breakfast back at Garden Home Bungalows. (Option:) Visit Akha hill tribe village and other villages if overnight in your guide's Karen hill tribe village home.
The villagers are farmers and very poor. Many do not speak Thai and none of them speak English. They are our friends and very shy so do not like tour operators bring visitors to see them however they welcome us like family as we help them and respect their culture. There are a few culture and custom rules we must follow and your guide will explain them to you.
From the Lahu village we travel along roads with orange and lychee groves, Akha, Karen, Lisu and Lahu villagers working in their fields to a beautiful temple hot springs for a delicious Thai lunch.
We then travel through hill tribe villages to meet our private long tail boat for the 2 hour journey through mountain canyons to Chiang Rai. There is a rest room half way along the journey should you need to stop. We might see hil tribe working on vertical sloped mountainsides, elephants bathing in the river and locals fishing in the river. The private van and driver will meet us in Chiang Rai and then return to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai and your hotel. (B,L)
