Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai Thailand Nature and Culture Tour.
On this 4 day tour you will enjoy beautiful waterfalls on the highest mountain in Thailand, visit a primitive hill tribe village, beautiful Temples, Long tailed boat ride through mountain canyons with overnight in beautiful river front bungalow and mountain resort. Experience daily life with hill tribe families. You can work in the rice fields, learn weaving, roast coffee, help at the fish farm, swim in waterfalls, learn about the local herbs and medicines while hiking in the forest with your English speaking hill tribe guide.
Day 1 This morning we will greet you at your hotel and take you to Doi Inthanon National Park where you will meet your local expert English speaking guide who lives in the Karen hill tribe village. We than take an easy trail for 2 hour easy trek (hike) to a beautiful waterfalls. Your guide will show and tell you about the different plants, herbs and vegetation used for medicines and cooking. If you like you can swim at the falls. We then visit your guide’s Karen hill tribe village and coffee shop. We will then have lunch have at a lovely restaurant along a beautiful stream away from the tourists and visit the summit of Doi Inthanon the highest mountain in Thailand at 2565 meter (8415 feet). We then visit the Hmong village market then your Karen hill tribe guide’s home where you can learn to cotton weave on a traditional back strap loom. We then visit a large waterfall on the way back to Chiang Mai and your hotel. (L)

DAY 2 We will greet you at your hotel in Chiang Mai and ride 40 minutes to a town market. Your guide will tell you about the local produce, Thai food and snacks on display and for you to taste, Then travel to Chiang Dao Cave Shrine for a short walk through the cave. We then travel through Fang valley stopping at a Hmong hill tribe fruit market to buy fruit for the children in the village we will visit and have lunch in the town of Fang. We then visit a old style rice mill in Mae Ai then a primitive Lahu village and pre-school with children 2 to 5 years old. We will check into your bungalow along the Mae Kok river then a delicious Thai food family style dinner with your guide and driver, overnight in Thaton. (B,L,D)
DAY 3 This morning we wake up early to see the amazing sunrise from Wat Thaton temple. We then return to the bungalows for breakfast and check out. We then visit a Karen hill tribe village where we pick up your local English speaking guide to visit Akha hill tribe and surrounding villages. Then we will have lunch and travel high in the mountains with spectacular vistas to Laolee Resort in a beautiful Chinese village. We then visit the tea plantation, factory and KMT General Laolee’s home who founded the town after leaving the Chinese Revolution.. Tonight enjoy a delicious Yunnan Chinese meal and overnight at the resort..(B,L,D).
DAY 3 This morning after breakfast we travel down the mountain to a Shan hill tribe village and visit locals cotton weaving beautiful patterns. We then take a short ride to the banks of the Mae Kok River where we board a private long tail boat for the 2 hour ride through the mountains to Chiang Rai. Here our vehicle will meet us then lunch will be in Chiang Rai. We then visit the “White Temple” in Chiang Rai then lunch. We then visit Beautiful the famous Wat Saengkaeo which is a combination of the old Thai style and the modern Thai style. The temple buildings are a combination of Thai, Shan Burmese and Cambodian style architectures. Wat Saengkaeo also has various statues of deities of Hinduism and other religions. If you are a photographer touring the huge grounds is a must. This is a real mind blowing way to end the day. Return to Chiang Mai and your hotel. End tour, this is a private tour.
