Trekking and Hiking on the highest mountain in Thailand

This is an all exclusive package for those who like the outdoors, hiking and meeting friendly hill tribe people. We can adjust the trekking to any difficulty you like from very easy to hard. This trek is excellent for families with children, seniors as well as the very fit.

As this is a private tour with local Karen hill tribe guide, you will have lots of time to discuss with your guide the local hill tribe life and the surrounding forests. You will meet his family and partake in daily life. Your guide will also discuss with you the different trails and their difficulty and you can then decide which trail to hike and for how long. Your guide is also a bird watching expert so seeing colorful rare birds is possible. The bungalows are owned and run by the local village so you will be involved with them during the entire time. This can all be discussed with your guide once you arrive at the bungalows in the park. The itinerary below can be changed to meet your desires.

Day 1

We will meet in Chiang Mai and depart by private air conditioned mini van for Doi Inthanon National Park. We will visit the summit of the highest mountain in Thailand. We then take a short hike through the real cloud forest. You will enjoy a Thai lunch at a restaurant along a beautiful stream. We then travel by vehicle to another trail for a beautiful 3 hour easy trek to a beautiful waterfall where you can swim in the cold water if you wish. Your guide will show you the different edible plants and medicines.

We then go to your bungalow near a Karen Hill Tribe village. Here your local guide and his family will make an all you can eat The food dinner for you. After dinner you will have a camp fire in front of your bungalow. The bungalow has hot shower and western style toilet. (L,D) (OPTION: Return to Chiang Mai)

Day 2

This morning after breakfast at the bungalows we depart by vehicle High in the mountains above 2400 meters where you start your 3 hour trek through the forest with spectacular vistas. We then have lunch then visit the Karen hill tribe village.

Here you will be able to learn how to weave, plant or harvest rice in their fields, roast coffee, work in the fish farm and partakw in daily karen hill tribe life.

Return to Chiang Mai and your hotel (B,L).

Accommodations

You can enjoy a choice of Stream side, rice view or bird watching bungalows during your trek at Doi Inthanon National park. All the bungalows have western style toilets and hot shower. They are also 2 and 3 bedroom family bungalows available.

All meals are included and there is a restaurant, coffee and waffle shop plus a small shop to purchase soft drinks or alcoholic beverages and you favorite snacks.
